Isabel Hilton is an international journalist and broadcaster. She studied at the Beijing Foreign Language and Culture University and at Fudan University. She worked for the Daily Express and the Sunday Times before joining the launch team for The Independent in 1986. In 1992 she became a presenter of BBC’s flagship news program, The World Tonight, and columnist for The Guardian. In 1999 she joined the New Yorker as a staff writer. Isabel is co-author of several books and is the founder and editor of the independent online media platform Chinadialogue.net; a non-profit, fully bilingual online publication based in London, Beijing and Delhi.
