Øystein Dørum is Chief Economist at NHO, the Confederation of Norwegian Enterprise. He is a one of the most influential economists in Norway, is frequently quoted in financial articles and an active participant in the debate about public spending. He has held a variety of positions prior to joining NHO in 2016. He has worked in the Ministry of Finance’s Economic Policy Department from 1988 to 1995, served as Head of the National Budget Office, served as an advisor to the European Commission in 1993 and held the position as Chief Economist in DNB from 1998 to 2016.
